A few evenings ago, we explored the topic of digital well-being for families, children, and teenagers in a packed auditorium, attended by parents of children of all ages, as well as teachers, educators, school leaders, and local officials.
Digital well-being goes beyond simply using technology safely and responsibly. It can be understood as the ability to maintain a healthy balance - both mentally and physically - in our relationship with digital tools, which now permeate almost every aspect of daily life. It is a dynamic concept that evolves over time, adapting to changing circumstances and emotional states. Cultivating it requires self-awareness and the ability to make conscious choices to protect oneself.
Digital well-being is both an individual and a collective value. It is simultaneously a tool and a goal.
The conversations with attendees highlighted a strong desire to better understand how technology shapes our lives, the importance of dialogue and exchange among adults, and the need to create shared strategies to safeguard the youngest members of our communities.
