Sociography has created a system (crawler and APP) for the automatic collection and analysis of hate speech online - 12 Member States / 9 languages.
It has also developed a WEBAPP for the collection, via smartphone and computer, of reports and testimonies of cases of hate speech against women present on the Internet. The use of the WEBAPP is supported by in-formation activities especially for secondary school students and in the university environment.

"DEVELOP YOUR LEGITIMATE ODDNESS" (Michel Foucault)

Modern and hyper-technological society is characterized by seeking and defending the concept of "freedom", especially of expression. Social media have contributed decisively to amplifying the visibility of some messages and themes, sometimes making them so extreme as to trivialize them or empty them of meaning.
However, the analysis of the contents uploaded on the various social platforms allows to identify how behind the frantic search for freedom, there is also an evident inability to accept the other, the "different". Hate crimes and hate speech are perhaps the most violent example of a society that, in fact, is not educated to inclusion. A society that often remains silent - even on social media... - in front of racism, discrimination, violence - verbal and physical - as well as bullying and cyberbullying.

Sociography traces the lines of different phenomena to contribute both to the understanding of the contradictions of modern society and to a greater sense of individual responsibility in a globalized world that is losing local identities, but struggling to build a "universal citizenship".
