Sustainability - in its various social, environmental and economic declinations - is one of the most important challenges of modern society because it brings the human being back to the center of the relationship with nature and the environment that surrounds him. Furthermore, it also calls into question the unconditional trust in progress and innovation, in favor of a new critical thinking, greater responsibility and a newfound desire to participate.
Sociography considers sustainability an urgent necessity of modern times and analyzes it in all its facets, including the rhetoric and mystifications that accompany it and that risk undermining its importance.
Therefore, Sociography develops not only research activities aimed at generating knowledge, but also initiatives to support public and private entities engaged in the creation of a more sustainable and healthy society, trying to amplify reflections on the relationship between sustainability, transparency, ethics and legality. In this area, Sociography is often a facilitator, that is, it designs methodologies, tools and actions that allow institutions, public and private organizations, businesses and citizens to dialogue constructively, within a shared project that can produce concrete results, respecting the territories.
Sociography acts to support changemaking by helping public and private organizations to develop a prospective and unitary vision, within which to define action plans for an efficient and effective use of available resources, respecting rights and ethics.
