"A CRIME IS LIKE A SOUND. IT DOES NOT EXIST IF THERE IS NO ONE TO LISTEN TO IT" (Ferdinand Mount)

Criminological analysis represents one of the themes of greatest interest for Sociography because it is an important key to understanding society in its spatial-temporal evolution.
Research projects are an indispensable tool for investigating criminal phenomena. Sociography explores in particular the relationship between crime and technology, studying the way in which they influence each other, the most relevant factors, the impact on people and the environment and the strategies for preventing and mitigating risks.

Main topics:
Illegal trafficking (drugs, precursors and pre-precursors, New Psychoactive Substances - NPS, synthetic drugs, medicines, tobacco, firearms, timber...) – online (Surface and Dark Web) and offline
Terrorism (radicalization, propaganda and financing)
Hate crimes and hate speech (gender violence)
Computer crime (ransomware and malware, ID crime...)
Environmental crimes (water crimes, illegal logging, crime in the renewable energy, logistics and mobility sectors...)
Corruption
Widespread crime and urban security
Policy making
Security technologies
Methodologies, tools and analysis techniques
